About UnFound
UnFound supports UK-based platform co-ops to start-up, grow and flourish.
The core aim of UnFound is to provide business support to platform co-op founders.
We do this through specific programmes, such as the UnFound Accelerator launched in 2018, and the Platform Co‑ops Now online course, run in collaboration with Mondragon University (Basque Country) and the New School (New York).
UnFound was set up in 2017 in response to the National Co‑operative Development Strategy, which identified platform co‑ops as a sector that required significant focus and investment.
Supporting emerging UK platform co-ops
Through UnFound, platform co-op founders can also access the wide range of business support programmes offered by Co‑operatives UK, such as The Hive, the Community Shares Booster programme and our advice team’s services.
UnFound aims to raise awareness about the platform co‑op option, through events, publications and policy work and is part of an international network of platform co‑op founders and business support programmes.
A global movement
Co‑operatives UK is part of the Circle of Co‑operators of the Platform Co‑operativism Consortium that aims to map the global platform co-op ecosystem and bring its actors together through international events.
Partners and funders
Co‑operatives UK runs UnFound in partnership with Stir to Action thanks to funding from The Co‑operative Bank.
Open Society Foundations and Nesta have also funded Co‑operatives UK’s work on platform co‑ops.
